Super vitesse et cryptage intégré, mais malheureusement il peux poser des soucis, certe reconnu par Windows, mais pour plusieur logiciel comme pour le partitionner, ou faire des sauvegardes du disque sont inexploitable, juste la sauvegarde Windows 7 intégré à Windows 11, peut le faire, à ma connaissance. Et encore, ensuite obligé de refaire toutes les clés bitlocker, de toutes les partitions du SSD. Mais sinon de très bonnes caractéristiques, et pour moi dans un NUC intel ultra 2, aucun soucis de chaleur même sur de la génération d'IA sur une heure. 7100 Mo/s en lecture et écriture 6900 Mo/s avec cryptage matériel.

Non reconnu par Samsung Magician, un comble ! Cependant reconnu immédiatement par Windows 11 et la gestion des disques. Heureusement, il ne me servira pas à y installer le système d'exploitation (Data migration n'aurait pas fonctionné puisque dépendant de Magician... il y a quelques années les deux log étaient distincts). Est le firmware à mette à jour ? Le site de Samsung propose un fichier iso sans explications hélas !

Only complaints are that there is less support for the amd platfrom and the heatsink has an untoggleable red led which is a nuisance for me but may not matter to others. As far as thermals, this one comes with its own heatsink but id rather have one than not, its got a very strong style.

I moved large game files, edited videos, and copied backups, and the speed didn’t randomly drop in a way I’ve seen with older SSDs. It just felt predictable, which made me trust it more for daily work. Efficiency What surprised me was how little it seemed to “struggle” under load. I could download, unzip, and run apps at the same time without feeling like the system was slowing down. It made my PC feel more responsive overall, especially when multitasking heavy tasks. Latency Opening games and large applications felt almost instant. I didn’t sit there waiting for loading screens like I used to with older SSDs. Even small actions like searching through files or launching editing software felt snappier, like the system was reacting immediately to what I clicked. Thermals I was a bit worried about heat at first, especially during long file transfers. In real use, it does warm up under heavy loads, but it never felt like it was throttling in a way I could notice. With decent airflow, it stayed controlled and stable. Throughput This is where I felt the biggest improvement. Large file transfers, especially moving game installs or editing 4K video files, were extremely fast. What used to take several minutes now felt cut down significantly, and I found myself finishing tasks faster than expected without waiting around. Overall experience Using the Samsung 990 Pro made my system feel less like individual parts working together and more like everything was unified and fast. It didn’t just improve benchmarks for me, it changed how I interact with my PC because I stopped thinking about storage delays altogether.

Samsung magician bench tests show speeds of 7600mbps on both read and write but true tests show much less. The ssd wouldnt hit anything over 700mbps. I love samsung products but for the price I paid, I am very disappointed. It stays around 44c under load.

Make sure to install latest edition of samsung magician to benchmark and test this drive. Magician keeps it updated and running smoothly and efficiently. I installed it as my only drive on a asus tuf gaming x570-pro running windows 11 pro and using only a boot disk to install the OS did not have any problems at all. No compatibility issues at all.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased a 2TB Samsung 990 PRO NVMe with Heatsink for my PS5 and it has been excellent! I got it back in December 2024 and it hasn't given me a single issue. I got it with the Heatsink because I already knew it was going to see a lot of use, I play frequently and have a lot of games. Currently sitting at over 80% capacity used and it still performs efficiently. It doesn't throttle or slow down performance, even on long play sessions. Speed and performance have been consistently excellent. On initial setup, the speed test showed just under 6,600MB/s speeds for my PS5. I've been playing games as demanding as cyberpunk or elden ring and they all play as if they were installed internally, no issues whatsoever.

It will work with any modern CPU from the last few years as well, which is a good thing! You have pretty good storage size options depending on your budget and needs as well! The heatsink does a great job at keeping it cool even under demanding tasks! And the new Samsung magician app has an easy to use interface where you can update the firmware, check the health and also the temps of the SSD! All in all it's a great product!

The NVMe went in in 2 seconds. Interface was smooth and simple. It fit right into the bay. My PS5 runs games super fast now and isn't overheating like before. Super impressed with this product.

Windows is loading up so quickly and the games and programs I am running are loading up so quickly and smoothly. Saving and editing big 4k video files stored on it is also so smooth and quick than on my previous Lexar SSD drive I was using which was making my work consume so much time and causing me to become frustrated with it while working.
