How to protect your Samsung Galaxy device after water exposure
If your Galaxy phone is exposed to water or other liquids, internal damage or corrosion may occur even if the device appears to work normally.
Note:
- Improper cleaning or drying methods may cause discolouration, corrosion, or permanent damage to the device.
- Do not use heat sources such as hair dryers to dry your device.
- Do not use chemical cleaners, abrasive materials, compressed air or external heat sources to clean your device.
- We recommend visiting a Samsung service centre to have your device inspected for possible damage, even if it appears to work normally after water exposure.
- If the microphone, speaker, or receiver is not completely dry, call quality may be affected.
- Some functions, such as touch input, may not work properly when the device is underwater.
If you accidentally get water on your Galaxy device, follow the steps below immediately.
Note: Even after drying, moisture may remain inside the device. Do not turn on the device and have it inspected at a Samsung service centre as soon as possible.
